Loja Online

The project

During the COVID period, home-based food businesses were becoming increasingly common, but many home bakers faced the same practical problem: they could make and sell the food, but they had no proper system for discovery, ordering or delivery.

Two partners and I created Loja Online as an experiment to solve that gap.

I handled the digital side of the venture from the ground up. I developed the brand identity and guidelines, built the marketplace website using WordPress and WooCommerce, structured the ordering experience, managed the social presence and supported customer acquisition through WhatsApp, word of mouth and offline promotion.

Orders could enter through several channels. Customers could browse and check out directly through WooCommerce, place an order through WhatsApp, or call us. The operational team then coordinated the order with the appropriate home baker and arranged delivery to the customer.

This meant the system had to work beyond the website itself. The real product was the connection between customer discovery, ordering, baker fulfilment and last-mile delivery.

Within approximately three months, Loja processed more than 100 completed customer orders, including repeat purchases.

We eventually closed the experiment as COVID conditions changed rather than attempting to turn it into a long-term company. For me, the project remains valuable because it demonstrated that we could identify a practical market problem, build a working system around it and get real customers to use it.

My role

Concept development, branding, WordPress/WooCommerce implementation, digital customer journey, social media and marketing setup.

Result

100+ completed orders in roughly three months, including repeat customers.
