Intricacies by Vartika
A WordPress platform for artist Vartika Sinha combining her portfolio, exhibitions, media, content and artwork sales in one digital home.
The project
In 2022, I worked with Bengaluru-based artist Vartika Sinha to establish a professional online presence where she could showcase her work and sell original paintings.
I designed and developed the website in WordPress, structuring it around her artwork, exhibitions, media coverage, background, content and online shop.
One of the main challenges was organizing a growing artwork collection. Paintings needed to be structured by categories such as landscape, portrait, still life and abstract, while also accounting for different mediums, pricing and availability. The quality of the artwork imagery was particularly important, so the site had to present the paintings without altering their colours or visual character.
I also implemented the commercial side of the site, including product listings, basket and checkout functionality, coupon support and PayU payment processing. During implementation, I identified an SSL issue preventing the payment gateway from returning successful payment information to the website, then configured SSL and completed the payment flow. A test transaction was subsequently processed successfully.
Beyond the website itself, I connected supporting infrastructure including professional Zoho email, Google Search Console, social integrations and video content.
The finished website became Vartika’s main online presence and gave her one place to present her work, document exhibitions and offer artwork for sale.
